In-House UID Compliant Marking

What is UID marking?
Unique Identification Marking (“UID”) is a permanent product marking process used to give plates, equipment and other articles their own unique ID numbers. It is simply a two dimensional data matrix code placed on the object – much like a standard bar-code. In cases involving federal contracting, it is a required process as part of the United States Department of Defense UID compliance procedures.
Proper UID marking results in easy cataloguing, inventory control and traceability of parts and equipment. It allows part and equipment manufacturers and suppliers from any field: automotive, industrial, medical, and aerospace, for example, the ability to trace their products from cradle to grave.
If your equipment or parts cannot be directly marked due to size or other reasons, Industrial Nameplate, Inc. can create the necessary plates, panels, tags, or labels, provide UID compliant marking, and then the UID tags can then be placed directly onto the equipment or parts.
How do we provide the UID marking?
Using the TECHNOMark Multi4 Modular Marking System by DAPRA Marking Systems, Industrial Nameplate, Inc. can mark or tag the plates, placards, tags, labels and panel fronts that we create for you. Rather than purchasing your plates, panel fronts, tags, placards and labels from one source and then hiring a third-party to do the UID marking, we do it all in-house, at our Appleton facility. This results in faster turn-around times and lower costs for you.
